Book Blurb: She believes in Fate. He’s calling her bluff.
As a teen, Indy learned that Destiny would lead her to the man of her dreams. His name was Nick.
Fifteen years later, Fate grants her a second chance at her One True Love. And even though leaving her house for anything less than a latte is terrifying, Indy has to take it.
See, Indy O’Neall isn’t anything like the adventurous heroine she writes. For her, a good night is sharing a pint of mint chip ice-cream with her roomate Sasha while cheering on the best damn basketball team in the league.
But this is Destiny calling. Indy can’t ignore it.
Unfortunately, one man is standing in her way.
Ethan Fraser.
He’s six feet of confidence in the body of a superhero, and a bone to pick with her future husband. Indy is happy to steer clear of the gorgeous, motorcycle-riding, rock-climbing, elementary teacher.
The problem is, no matter what Indy does, all roads seem to lead back to Ethan.
Ethan is charming. Ethan is flirtatious. But Ethan isn’t her soulmate.
Review: First, I would like to thank Victory Editing & Netgalley for the ARC of ‘It has to be you’ by Dani McLean
The story starts with young Indy visiting a psychic to find out if her boyfriend Nick is her soulmate. Years later, Indy is a published author struggling with writing her last book in her series. As a Romance writer, she feels like an imposter, as she never really has experienced love. When Indy finds an old gift Nick had given her when they dated in high school, Indy believes it is a sign, and it's her destiny to connect with Nick again. After tracking him down, she tries to see Nick at his office, but meets Ethan instead. Although Ethan comes over as a flirt, it doesn't take long before being on Team Ethan. Without giving away any spoilers, Indy and Ethan develop a deep, meaningful friendship and gosh you hope they will end up together.
Once I got into the story, I kept on reading. I enjoyed the lighthearted way of writing by the author. I loved the inner struggles of Indy, her self-awareness and her strong believe in destiny. Ethan...well...he’s totally hot and I would not care about my ‘destiny’ when he's sitting on my couch.
‘It has to be you’, is a light read with some steamy scenes (one very very steamy scene, that made me blush). I missed some depth and flaws in Ethan as he is too perfect but it didn't really bother me as it's a great read with a glass of wine curled up on the couch. I definitely want to read more of Dani her books.
